"When our team ventured out into Monte Plata, a very small, poor town in the DR, we anticipated bringing aid to the children and the community, but what we experienced was far more special. We had the honor of meeting a group of children with both energy and spirit. Our team consisted of Sean Kober, a prison official in the New York State Department of Correctional Systems, Will Parmeter, a freelance photographer from Florida, and John Tumminia, a Major League Scout with the Chicago White Sox. We came armed with baseball gloves, hats, equipment, uniforms, and even personalized baseball cards. Despite the poverty they experience daily, the people of Monte Plata greeted us with smiles on their faces. “Because of my experience with BM [Baseball Miracles, Inc.] in the DR [Dominican Republic], I felt confident I would be able to do this. Thank you BM [Baseball Miracles, Inc.] for helping me with my dream.” - Elias Disla, Elias attended a BM clinic in Monte Plata, DR as a child, later came to the states and eventually signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Glendale Community College
